Sandusky, Ohio – July 8, 2024 – Payne Nickles & Company CPAs and Business Advisors is proud to announce the promotion of four outstanding team members in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and contributions to the firm. 

Tanner Stiert, CPA, has been promoted to Manager. Tanner graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in Business, majoring in Accountancy and minoring in Information Systems in May 2018. He is a member of the AICPA and The Ohio Society of CPAs. Tanner grew up in Milan, Ohio, where he still resides. He interned with Payne Nickles & Company in 2017 and 2018 before joining full-time in June of 2018. Tanner primarily works in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation, as well as business valuation and consulting. He is also working toward his Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation this fall.  

Jerod Poore, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Jerod graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Accountancy, completing his master’s in 2021. He is a member of the AICPA. Born and raised in Norwalk, Ohio, Jerod continues to reside there. He joined Payne Nickles & Company as an intern in January 2022 and began full-time as a staff accountant in April 2022.  

Gabe Smythe has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Gabe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Heidelberg University in 2020 and earned a Master’s of Accountancy (MAcc) from Bowling Green State University in August 2021. Gabe grew up in Bellevue, Ohio, and moved back there after college. He joined Payne Nickles & Company in 2021.  

Alex Ravis has been promoted to Senior Accountant. Alex graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Finance. He resides in Sandusky, Ohio. Alex joined Payne Nickles & Company in 2021. He is heavily involved in Business Valuations, audits of both businesses and employee benefit plans, and tax engagements.
